I was doing some searching on The internet archive website, The Way Back Machine, and I found the old McDonald's Pizza Hut and MSN websites from 1997, '98 and '01

Look at those ugly graphics!! Horrible! Just shows you how much graphics and the internet has advanced.

I have been on-line for at least 20 years and don't remember seeing those adds. But you are correct graphics have come a long way.
I remember when there was no IM's only BBS's.
Oh well I am almost as old as dirt. LOL

At the time I did not notice how primitive it was.
It was useful too, I think I joined eBay very late in 1997.

It was a lot more friendly back then. A lot less kids and hackers. That's why there is the internet2.
