I happened to just call a office in UK , London, and they said it is a public holiday there too. Whats the holiday?

It is the Notting Hill Carnival Holiday.

It is a public holiday here today. There is actually no special occasion - it is just known as late summer bank holiday, and it is the last public holiday until Christmas - so we all value it a great deal!!

Yes, its a public holiday, although working on these 'holidays' is becoming more common.

No it i not as all public holidays that are in the UK are in Australia as well and there is no public holiday today as i had to go to school. The guy is pulling your leg and didnt want to talk to you. SORRy!!!
