According to a new study, one of the best ways to avoid drowsiness during the day is to get about 20-30 minutes of direct sunlight. This helps to regulate the body's hormones and internal clock.
Therefore, you might try doing your homework outside or do some chores outside before beginning your homework. Hope this helps.

Get in the fresh air and go for a walk. Do something with a friend. I know you said you had a lot of homework, but you will be able to pay better attention to it if you are awake and alert. So take the time to do some exercise and get some air. Take at least an hour if you can. You will be surprised at how much this helps you.
Why in the world do they give you so much homework? Is it because school gets out so early? I don't really think you need to have that much homework, but I guess you can't change that.
Good luck to you.

ok. I work and even if I now I have lots of work to do, i make it to the point nd take atleast a 15-20 minute nap. you may find this ridiculous but it is a good routine. you are sleepy because you just had your lunch and tired for the morning classes. I would suggest that you get disciplined in taking a nap for 15 -20 minutes before you get back to your homework. Be disciplined to bring yourself up and running when your alarm clock sounds off. It has been working for me now for more than a year and I don't use an alarm clock anymore. At first it will seem hard but just lay back and close your eyes and stop thinking of your homework - you can also call it your relax time. giving yourself to take a few minutes of rest can keep you more energized to do your home work.
They key point here is discipline.
and by the way... I don't drink coffee, I prefer milk.

Your problem is very simple and you can overcome it easily.
I would not suggest any medication for you.
To start with immediately after comming from school you take bath in cold water and then have light food (Not stomach full so that you feel sleepy) and do your home works.
Secondly start practicing the principal - wake early and go to bed early. You will find it difficult initially but after some days you will get accustomed.
Have healthy food at fixed time.
You will find the desired change in couple of months.

The same thing happened to me when I was studying too.
When you feel sleepy, leave your desk and look for a glass of cold water.
Have a break every 90 minutes to
- put your clothes into the washing machine.
- spare 5 minutes to clean your room.
- lay down in bed and do like you're riding a bicycle. The back needs a little rest too after the whole morning in class, so this is good and it helps to flat your stomach too.
- watch a short funny movie from the internet or CD (10 minutes)

I do some exercises like doing weight lifting to avoid being sleepy. You can do the exercise using dumble and doing your homework together.
I think you have problem on studying, either you don't like the subject you are studying or the subject is not really interesting. Like me, i do some exercise and focus. Just buy the dumble for RM 50.00 at Tesco. :)
