life is about good relationships and you can work on forming good relationships with people anywhere... so find a like-minded soul and have fun doing something together. then it won't be so boring..
In the US most places are more alike than they are different.. so make the best of your situation and put yourself out there and meet some people. You'd have to do that in a more "exciting" city too, if you want to have some fun with other people...

Move to another city perhaps... Of course you can always "escape" to the nearest more "interesting" city as much as you can.
If none of the above suits you, then there is always the Internet...

lol spend time on yahoo answers.
make do with what you have.
invite friends over for pizza, watch a movie, play video games while eating the pizza and hanging out with friends.
if it is a boring town bring excitement to it.

find something fun to do. i used to live in a boring city-ghetto too. my friends & i used to bang the transh can with a bat. we made all kind of lovely sounds & we had a blast.

spend time with friends and entertain yourselves ... do everything from throwing crazy parties to doing things like planning your future. i grew up in a small town of 500 people and i had the best time of my life. i still go back there and really enjoy it.
