just go messenger.yahoo.com and download the yahoo messenger you can download either the beta 8. something or the 7.x install it in your computer log in with your yahoo id into the messenger there will be a option contacts in the menu click it in that there will be an option send sms or just after loging hit Ctrl+T u will be presented with a dialogue box enter the mobile number in the left upper corner type the matter you want to send in the box below and hit send. it's done. it doesn't work for some providers so check it

You seem to be in India...so go to Sholay.com they offer free sms services to India but only to GSM or go to indiatimes.com and download their software that lets you send free sms to all the phones in india....

here in phil we use CHICKA...its a software use to send sms from pc to a cellphone device...i dont know if there are still any other kind...but you can try it too..just google it...
