The alcohol was cooked out of the meal, dont worry. Before I knew I was prego with my son I had a few drinks, when I found out I was pregnent I felt horrible but my son came out fine. No worries.

It's true that the first trimester is the most important time to avoid alcohol, so you're being very responsible to try to eliminate your alcohol intake completely.
In this case, though, it's ok to relax a little. The amount of wine you got in your serving was only a fraction of a cup. It's a myth that alcohol cooks off completely, but a significant portion does. So that's even less that you actually consumed.
I would advise that you skip the leftovers for lunch, not because they're really going to do anything to you, but because they're stressing you out. It's so much easier just to grab something else than to have that nagging fear in your head for the next several months--even if you're head tells you it's a completely irrational fear.
Congratulations on your pregnancy, and on making such a great effort to take care of yourself and your baby!

no, not in the least the fact that the wine was cooked with first off renders it almost totally void of alchohol (why else could a 15 year old order a jack daniels steak at chilis?) secondly some doctors even condone a glass of wine per week for pregnant woman (somthing to do w/ antioxidants and health benefits) although i personally wouldnt do this ive just read about it happining, thirdly lots of people do not know there pregnant untill well into the second or third month and do some very bad things in that time frame (including my fiancee who before we relized she was pregnant smoked weed, and had a few drinks however i have a beautiful healthy 6 month old son at home who is very ahead developmantily which proves what all the doctors told us in that it wont really hurt anything if you screw up (a little) in the begining as long as you start to take care of yourself after you know, my advice? eat those leftovers, but refrain from anything else questionable for the rest of the pregnancy, if for no other reason then for your own piece of mind =) either way congratulations

Several Doctors will agree that an occasional glass of wine is completely safe. Once you consider the fact that it was cooked in your food, I would say it's pretty safe. If you have any special conditions regarding alchohol and pregnancy, then you might have something to worry about.

Usually when cooking with wine most of the alcohol is evaporated off because of the heat. I saw this on some cooking shows.

Alcohol evaporates during the cooking process..but even if you had drank it, a small amount once would not do any harm. Serioulsy...try to relax...you stressing out WILL do harm to Junior. Good luck by the way.. I'm sure you will be a terrific MOM.

As already stated if it is cooked chances are you will be fine, because it disipates harmfulness. I dated a girl while in High School who was drastically alergic to alcohol and she ate some shrimp that had been cooked in Wine, she was fine.

When you cook with wine, the alcohol burns off, your fine, a glass of wine or a beer won't hurt your fetus in moderation, but cooking with it, your very safe!!

Your fine if it was just one glass. I used to have a friend who did shots of tequila when she was 8 weeks along. But then again she didn't care about her baby, but the baby is a healthy 5 year old now. Don't worry so much.
