I would speculate that you made a diet or sleeping habit change or that your studies have made you very stressed out recently. I have read that stress or changes in routines can sometimes be a cause for changes with the body.

I also have to deal with studies and keeping in shape; so, here is some advice for fitting a good diet with plenty of protein and time for a workout in even with studies:

-Eat a lot of protein because it helps when trying to add muscle. You should mix hamburger in with nearly everything imaginable. Hamburger is a wonderful source of protein. I just had an ice cream cone with hamburger mixed in this afternoon. I like my protein, but I would only suggest that you do not put it in the Jell-O snack packs fresh out of the microwave...the hamburger ruins the Jell-O flavor. Just be sure to look for sources of protein. Maybe you have a vegetarian friend who knows about other advice for finding protein as vegetarians need to look for alternative sources besides the well-known source which is meat.

-Get up early in the morning to exercise. It is a great way to start the day because it wakes you up and gives you a reason to shower before you go someplace.

-Keep a regular sleep schedule. You see, if you have a set routine for this you'll not be so apt to gain weight or have other issues as with bodybuilding. A weird sleep schedule can affect your bodybuilding; so, be sure to alway sleep with the usual women so as to keep a consistent sleep schedule...ha ha! ...but I really mean to just keep the same amount of time for sleep each night (eight hours is recommended for adults) and try to get up and go to bed at the same time...I know that is certainly not always possible, but attempt to be consistent.

-Make sure you are getting enough sleep--as I say above most adults function best with 8 hours of sleep, but it really does vary from each person too. You may require more or less, but only you can determine that. If you have trouble getting enough sleep, try meditation. I can almost guarantee that you will fall asleep during meditation. I tried meditation once, and that's what happened--I fell asleep! Or, since I see you've studies as well, you could do important things such as putz around on Yahoo! Answers or tan at the beach when you're not at the school or university, and save your studies for when you want to go to sleep. Studying is also an effective sleep aid. When your teacher or professor accuses you of not studying, inform him that you do study before you go to bed each night: say that you read your books for about 15 minutes each night to make you fall asleep!

I have suggested things that work for me, and I hope that you at least find something useful. I don't really do bodybuilding as much (I run, bike, ski, and such instead depending on the season), but getting enough protein, keeping a set schedule, and getting the proper amount of sleep is just general advice for any effective exercising. I would definitely recommend that you keep working out, and if you ever need any motivation, think of the ladies! Ha ha! Actually, it is good to put your studies ahead of your workout...ladies probably prefer intelligence anyways, but it is always nice to look like you work out in addition to being intelligent! Good luck with your exercise and studies!

1. Bodybuilding requires commitment. It is a totally different lifestyle that entails letting go of old habits and adopting new ones. You cannot go into bodybuilding and be half- hearted about it. It is a test of strength, selfdiscipline and willpower. Start only when you are sure you can commit time, effort and energy.

2. Your decision to start on muscle training must come from a sincere desire for a healthier and a more developed body. Do not go into it just because it’s your New Year’s resolution. People who decide to change something in them when the calendar flips on January 1st are most likely to stray from this discipline.

3. Make an assessment of your body. Decide what kind of attention goes to which part of your body. Some people have flabbier arms while others have most of the fat collected in their midsection. This way, it is easy for you to create a program that addresses your problem areas.

Some things I can think of right now are:

1) Maybe you actually stopped for a bit longer than normal, and so you've had more atrophy.

2) There could have been a shift in your diet that's not letting you put on muscle as efficiently.

3) You could just be burned out from studying/exercising and just need a break to give you time to focus.
