My new wife contacts her x about 20 times per month. Says the kids want to talk to their Dad. He calls seldom. Strange or is she not over him?

my sons ex girlfriend did the same thing next thing you know he came out and they moved in to together and that was that set a limit or things will get out of control

Bro,just a word of precaution,it's time for Sherlock Holmes. Don't be over suspicious as it will spoil everything but at the same time do not avoid it. Call up the phone company & request for a summary report of the out-going calls.Scan thru them,check how long has the conversations been made.These ideas are from experiences i had met from my friends.Don't get offended,but why does your kids love talking to him instead with you?Have you asked this question to yourself?Since your wife is making the calls to him telling you that the kids wants to talk to him,has she sat down & thought that the kids would love him more than you since they are talking him to more often.Sit down & reflect.I am not intervening in your life but i just want a relationship to go down the drain.

That all depends how long was she with him, when did they break up, how long between there breakup and your marriage? If he is the father of her children they will be talking often about them, but there is always a chance that she could still have feelings for her ex, I know it sounds bad but listen to a couple of conversations between them if you can you will get your answer.

She's over him. She wants him to pay attention to the kids.
Find a way to tell her gently that she cannot make him love them.
He will have to miss them so that he comes to them of his own accord--or not.
I hope the stupid bastard trips, falls down the stairs, and dies a horrible death alone for abandoning his kids like that.
