The word you're looking for is nefandous. It's not one we would use much, since we're not exactly puritanical any more.
nefandous-Unfit to speak of; unmentionable; impious; execrable
(that word is related to nefarious- "wicked, abominable")
It's the kind of thing that psychologically monstrous hypocrite Roger Chillingworth would have used to describe Hester's infidelity.
infamous- having an exceedingly bad reputation
unutterable- defying expression or description

'nefarious' is good, so is 'infamous'. Both of them contain the idea of 'unspeakable'. 'nefarious' is 'something it is bad luck to speak about' (latin: 'nefas'). 'infamous' is 'something it is bad luck to remember in a conversation' (latin: 'infama').
