Thanks Peter G, a ray of hope, not sure if UK cities have the community spirit to keep it workable though.

i'm not from the UK
But where I live we have been working with Bin bugs for a few years. The system works great and it has caused a huge increase in sorting and recycling, bin rubbish has gone down by 2/3 and we have become one of the lowest rubbish producing regions in the country. In effect bin tax has gone down for most families I know so why should anyone complain? if you learn to be wise with rubbish you'll save money!

I live in the UK and our city is one being targeted by bin bugs. So last night after dark my hubs and I went outside with a flashlight to see if we could find it. The only new thing on our bins is stickers giving collection times, so we destroyed those incase the bugs are fitted behind them. Yes, I believe it is happening and when my bins are next emptied I am gonna have a better look to see if I can FIND AND DESTROY the bug.

This is true and it's the most stupid thing since the re-election of Tony Blair.
