I have Nokia PC Suite installed and when I follow the instructions to connect (using cable usb) I get an error message saying not recognised, can anyone advise please?

You are connected Mobile with wrong cable.
Check what cable (DKU2 or DKU5) required for your mobile

It could be that your internet connection is conflicting with your USB cable connection. U need to restart your computer. and just connect the mobile and not internet
Or the software and drivers are not properly installed. Even USB driver if not properly installed can cause the problem
Try changing your mobile cable from one USB port to another.
Or you may be using a mobile which is not recognized by your nokia suite.

Please check if the Nokia PC suite version is suitable with your Phone. Old Nokia PC suite version can't detect new models of Nokia phones. For more information about upgrade of Nokia PC suite check this site below and go to the support.

Hi ,I had same problem and what I did was uninstalled evey thing related to nokia from my computer and then just connect my cell phone to the computer all over again.wait for wizard that say fund new hard ware and then put the driver in and follow the massages.Then go to your modem setting and try to put nokia as your default modem.

You have to check if your data cable is compatible with your phone. There are few cables Nokia is using for their wide range of models.
