after high school you need
4 years of college
4 years of medical school
3 years of residency
=
11 years
this number can def change depending on:
-how many years in between college and med school you spend trying to pass the MCATS. some people spend 2 years trying to pass the MCATS
-what your specialty is. some residencies are 4 or 5 years

It is more about the credits, not years. Some student can take 18 credits a semester, while others who are working can only take 9. It would take them twice as long. Some classes are worth more credits than others. Some students take a summer semester or two. And different University programs require a different number of credits to graduate. Now there are many PhD programs that will combine the masters and doctorate into one degree.
However my best answer, if the student went full time (16 credits per semester) without summer semesters and passed all classes, it would take...
MD 4 years undergrad, 4 years pre-med school and 4 years residency.
PHD 4 years undergrad, 2 years masters and 3 years PhD.

lots-- most people don't realize how long and hard the schooling is for doctors. you need 4 years of regular college, 4 years of medical school (and give up any thought of social life, sleeping, or vacation during those), something like 2 years of being an intern, 2 or 3 years of residency, and THEN if you're going to be a specialist, between 3-5 years of specialist training.
think of THAT next time you're complaining about a doctor's bill!

Many many. At least 7 or 8, including 4 years just to get a bachelor's degree, then onto medical school, then onto interning.

depends on your IQ. if you have an IQ of 180, you can skip many grades and need only 5 years. if you have low IQ, you may need 20 years.
