A short life is possible in most places. A long life is not probable. and depends on where you're going to live. If you don't have any money - you can't have a home in most places. Homeless people living in shelters have no money and live an average of about 5 years since they are hurting their immune systems by exposing themselves to the elements, poor nutrition and bacteria by not bathing. They oftentimes die of pnuemonia or some such thing. You could survive without money if you were on a remote desert island where there was fruit - and you could get a generally balanced diet between fruit, fresh fish. But you'd have to be emotionally strong to make this work. You'd have to find free ways to build shelter, find food and make clothing. The remote island would have to be tropical and a average steady temp most of the time without alot of hurricanes - I don't know where that would be.

Many societies have lived on other forms of living, other than money - one instance would be the bartering system. Trade services or goods for other services or goods.

While bartering is not popular in most of the world now, personally, I think the world might benefit from it in the long term - creating a much stronger interdependency among the people of this little blue marble we live on.

It is very possible. People was doing it long before the concept of money was ever thought up. People back then survived by hunting, gathering, raising crops and exchanging goods/ services by using the barter system.
