My wife and I are expecting our first baby. She is in a bit of a bind coz she seems to be having problems with clothes. What to wear in those inbetween months were you are too small to wear maternity clothes but too big to fit into regular clothes. Does she just buy regular clothes but bigger sizes?

She can choose styles that will give her more room, like dresses with an empire waist or "baby doll" tops.

I am in that same situation right now and I went out and bought maternity clothes. The sizing charts for maternity clothes are like this. If you wore a size medium in regular clothes then you will wear a medium in maternity clothes. Go ahead a go clothes shopping for maternity clothes. They are way comfy too. Old navy has some great jeans and shirts that are not too expensive.

Actually maternity close are not worn as much anymore and they are changing to. There is a store called the Motherhood and they sell maternity clothes in all sizes. try pulling them up on the web at motherhood.com. On the other hand she could just buy pants that have elastic around the waist and bigger tops. if she has belly only buying bigger pants will not fit right and then she will feel fat and all those mixed moods will ignite~! : )

Sweat pants and large size Tees work nicely. Made me look less pregnant, at 8 mths people saw me and had no idea i was pregnant. Besides maternity clothes are so old fashioned although they've made them a bit more fashionable these days, but with regular clothes she can wear them even after pregnancy so its not so much a waste of money

On the pants which seems to be the harder to find a rubber band in the button hole will let you latch over to the button. Kinda like a bungee cord works and it buys you months without spending a dime. Hope you have a healthy baby. Good luck and Smile your dilemma is maternity clothes!

I was always albe to just buy bigger clothes. If you want cheaper clothes for that time being check www.craigslist.com or www.freecycle.org. You can also look on E-bay there is ALWAYS someone selling some. If the maternity clothes are to big no big deal it wont be long till shes in them. Good luck and Congrats!!

Long fitted t-shirts and yoga pants are excellent for early pregnancy, luckily they are in style right now!

There is also an awesome product called the belly hugger http://www.thebellyhugger.com/ which is extremely valuable during pregnancy and nursing. It covers your tummy so you don't have to buy as much maternity stuff. Also, looping an elastic band around the button of her jeans and through the button hole might help her wear them a little bit longer.
