The US species is from Florida and you have to check if you can bring it to California since it is not native of the US Pacific coast. It is called Dasyatis sabina.
In fact law enforcement agencies have warned of the following:
"The freshwater stingray is considered an injurious species in California and possession requires a permit from the California Department of Fish and Game". This is on page 17 of the document http://www.fws.gov/le/pdffiles/FY2002rpt.pdf
So contact the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Get more information on the species here

freshwater stingray?? I'm no authority on the subject, but I don't think there is such a thing. I know you can catch saltwater stingrays in the san gabriel river right where it goes into the ocean at seal beach, go get one there.

A magic shop maybe. Stingrays are saltwater fish. They are a type of shark.

No. But may I suggest you learn how to spell before you post another question. If you could bother to then learn proper punctuation, all of us would be very thankful.

Try going to www.aquiarumfish.net or www.petfish.net
I normally go through them for all my fish. Also try searching online for local pet stores and even ebay.
