i would like to know if a compiler for html would be a good topic for my research??

uh no, html isn't compiled, it's an interpretive language. The browser acts as an interpreter for the language. A compiled language takes code and converts it into binary that can be executed directly by the computer. An interpreted language uses an intermediate program to run/execute/display it.

I would say no, it wasn't the original intension for any SGML child to be compiled into a form that is not readablle in a plain text reader.
