Not since the 90s when he sided with a single mother who lost custody of her daughter to the father because she was going off to college and the children would have to spend most of her time in day care. The father (age 18) worked, made a good income, lived with his parents, who could care for the child when he was not there.

After losing custody, the child's mother filed a claim that he had abused her some 10 months previous, which resulted in him being arrested and the child given back to her. Leykis, as well as that other character whose been in the news recently about his pain killer addiction, said that he didn't deserve custody because he was an abuser. All without proof that he had done anything. All this made national news.

When he went to trial, two of the mother's friends were to testify that he attacked her, but when the defense attorney read to them the penalties for lying under oath, they changed their stories. They said she attacked him and all he did was grab her arms to protect himself.

He was found not guilty, at which the President of the Michigan Chapter of NOW and the female prosecutor said that this was a clear example that women can't get a fair hearing in court. Only their comments was reported on the news, not why he was found not guilty.

Six months later, the Michigan Supreme Court ruled that his grabbing her arms to protect himself is still considered abuse under the Federal Violence Against Women Act, so he could not have custody. He finally got it three years later, but not until after the mother had broken three of her bones. Now of this was ever reported, even by Leykis.

Tom Leykis is a moron. He's an alcoholic (you can hear him drunk on the air on many occasions, especially when they go on location at bars) and cannot maintain relationships because he's pretty much a miserable mean hateful person. I mean, the guy gets ratings for being controversial, not for being a role model or someone who makes sense. The devil himself probably makes terrific-sounding arguments, but that doesn't mean they aren't horseshit.

Switch the channel before you get infected with methods for becoming an "evil, mean, isolated, alcoholic, divorced, suicide-case-in-waiting", which pretty much sums up my opinion of Leykis.
