Jello does not contain any fat, vegetable or animal. Some people should research a question before answering.

Jello is not an appropriate food for a baby. If it was, don't you think we would be seeing "Gerber Baby jello" in the store?

There is no such product. Why do you suppose that is?
Jello is empty calories and has no nutritional benefit.

If your niece wants to give the baby something sweet tasting, she should get some baby peaches, or applesauce.

NO it is not good for a baby - or for anyone! Babies need nutrients, not gelatin, sugar and food colouring. Sugar Free Jello would be even worse because it is artificial sweetener!

Hospitals only feed it to people because it is easy to swallow and CHEAP.

Homemade fruit juice gelatin would be a better option.

Did you know Jello is made from horse hooves?

Fact.

I wouldn't get my baby used to a sweet taste like that. That makes them not want to eat nutritious foods, and sets them on the path to a sugar laden, fat filled, unhealthy childhood and adulthood.

Jello is very safe for babies, and low in calories, and doesn't have any hard parts to choke on...
I always gave my kids Jello when they had tummy problems and couldn't keep anything else down

Nothing is good for a human all the time. If its sugar free it would be a little better. But I would say no not every night. Maybe once a week or a couple times a month would be ok.

If the baby is 8 months old and not having any digestive problems with the food then it must not be bad.

In general, I think it's best to stay away from sugar and processed foods, espacially for a baby.

i think it's okay. it would be better if you made it with fruit juice, though. get knox unflavored gelatin, and use hot fruit juice, add the knox, then mix with cold juice and refrigerate to set. maybe cut up some bananas in there, too.
