In Indiaan team no bowler is classified as a Test Bowler or one day bowler. Till now Mr. Munaf Patel has not got more opportunities to bowl in one day match as compared to test match. However, time alone will decide whether he is best suited for only test matches or he is equally good in one day matches depending upon his performance in the opportunities he gets to bowl in one day matches.

He is a medium pace bowler with a lot of hype although he is barely starting out his career. He has attended the MRF Pace Foundation, and Dennis Lillee has trained him.
He has played both formats, but after only 6 games in both, can hardly feel established in either team. His test record is starting to look promising, 24 wickets at 28.33 (e/r of 2.96) with a best of 4/25 in 6 games.
His ODI bowling record, so far, is much less flattering. He has played 6 ODI, and taken 2 wickets at 117.50 (e/r 5.73!!) with a best of 1/43.

he is more of a test bowler rather than a ODI bowler at present. n i think he should concentrate only on test matches. still WC is quite far, so can gain more n more experience by playing test , as test matches r d real test of character.
after gaining experience frm tests he can move 2 ODI. so he can also prove fatal in WC. dont rush munaf into ODI right now bcoz it will take a toll out of his body. keep him for tests and then induct him into ODI near WC.

There is nothing like odi or test bowler. He performed well in first class cricket. As a result he's getting a chance in senior team. Only time will tell whether he can retain his place in odi's and/or tests

munaf still is a raw bowler . he needs to play for atleast a year to predict about his future potential in any form of game-odi or test.

Well i can say munaf patel can play for both ODI's and test 'coz i had played with him in 7-8 matches.and that guy really has talent in himself. And he works very much hard for his performance.i know he was play he was playing for Baroda and Kiran More gave him the place to play for baroda But there after Sachin saw him,he really got impressed with his bowling and asked him to play for mumbai Ranji Team.so till now he was playing for mumbai. And he really performed well too over there and you can see the results at present.

Munaf is fit for both forms of the game. He should maintain his pace and send deliveries at 145 k' plus to be really effective in both forms of the game.

you can't say so. in a test match you can bowl as per you want (or smtimes the captain) and even if the opponents/oppostion score in ur over, it's nothing much, you aim - get wickets, take wickets, limit the opposition.
odi's completely different. u'mst think of how to get wickets & also how to stop runs. you cannot ball too mny boncers as if u do so, their r/r will incrse. so you must bll good.
that's the prblem of mnaf patel. he balls better in tests. but as he playz more he's not amazing more! he started good will balls of 140 kph plus but then it cm down to 130-135 to 125 kph.
