I'm no fan of Bush. He has made blunder after blunder, and I'm beginning to think that his entire administration is comprised of imbeciles, however, the people who criticize him aren't any better. They criticise him for completely idiotic, false things, and the sad thing about it, is PEOPLE BELIEVE THEM!!! They say things like "he want to Iraq for oil," or "he lied about the WMDs and numerous things," seemingly unaware that a lie has to be intentionally false or even FALSE AT ALL!!! People love shouting the words "LIAR!" at him without any proof what so ever!!! Is the logical thought process completely gone from this country? This applies strongly to both sides. Now, I don't consider myself to be a very intelligent person, but at least I can reason, and I'm probably a whole lot smarter then both the Bush administration AND those who criticize it! People who read this will just write how Bush WAS lying, or other idiotic things like that. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY!!!

I understand your frustrations!!

I also agree that Bush has made some very big mistakes while President. The whole Gitmo thing (holding people for years w/ no access to courts, etc) is TOTALLY against our core "freedoms" values in my opinion. But, the "he went to Iraq for the oil" statements I still hear are crazy. As well, almost every political leader (both current and former) believed that Sadam had WMD. However, for some reason people are saying Bush lied about WMD in Iraq. Just because he rushed into Iraq (with 75% of the USA behind him) doesn't mean he lied, etc. I honestly think he jumped the gun and made several mistakes even before the invastion. But, I think that many other politicians (including many democrats) are just as guilty in many regards.

Whether republican, democrat or whatever we need to stop bashing the other side so much.

Again, I understand what you are saying and agree. I don't think I'm that smart either but at least I can think for myself and see both sides of an issue.

Kind of like all the people calling for Bush's impeachment? They apparently don't realize that before a president can be impeached, they have to actually commit an impeachable offense (like Clinton did).

I'm with you though. I'm not sure that Bush is doing a great job, but I don't think Kerry would have done any better. Unfortunately, we just didn't have a good option last election. Really makes me miss Reagan.

What is wrong with this country? Greed of the individual. Politicians are liars because they want whats good for them instead of the country. The news media has turned into entertainment and has to fill more hours than there is news. The news anchors and journalists are competing for top positions so they are obligated to report the BIG BOSSES agenda. I voted for President Clinton and watched the media crucify him over one mistake. Then I voted for President Bush and have been watching the bashing of Bush. They didn't let President Clinton do his job because of The Kenneth W. Starr Report. This problem we are in now was escalating during the years that President Clinton was in office. His attention was on defending him self. Now here we are in the same situation of Bush being bashed. There are things that we as ordinary citizens of the US don't and can't know about for reasons of security. The most important thing we need to do is stand together as the great nation we are and be big enough to support our President no matter which political party he belongs to. We need to be proud of our fighting men and support them. We need to stand united! We also need to be thankful for our freedom, it's ours unless we do something to our fellow man to step on his freedom.

I hope I understood your question and answered it somewhat right.

Well it's no surprise that you are smarter than 99.9% of those who criticize Bush and his administration because as you & I both apparently know most of them only know what they've been spoon fed and then it's only the stuff that was small & simple enough for them to regurgitate that we ever hear from them. Most of them would be hard pressed to express any opinion they hadn't been given by someone else. Most of them, when challenged with the FACTS, end up either facing the fact they don't know what they are talking about, or they get caught DELIBERATLY LYING themselves. Take this one guy who told me about how the Patriot Act was being abused by the Bush administration. He told me of this guy who's car allegedly did not work so he hailed a cab to go to work, the cab got stopped & searched and it was found to be full of explosives. So he & the cab driver went to prison and stayed there a long time. THis guy said they were held for years under the Patriot Act and only released when the UN made inquiries into their status. He deliberately withheld from me that this happened in Iraq, not the US, so the Patriot Act had NOTHING TO DO WITH IT (The act is a US law that does not apply in Iraq - the man was arrested and held under Iraqi law, not US law) and as it turned out the man involved was actually a suspected ranking member of a terrorist group who was working with the cab driver to blow up innocent Iraqis and though they couldn't prove it the time in questino they caught him AGAIN after he was involved in a blooy attack and the next time they had better proof so but for the UN getting him released the first time (YAY UN, way to go!) innocent Iraqis would not have died.

The fact that you recognize how idiotic those who criticize Bush and his administration are marks you as someone with reasonable intelligence, indeed.

Now that I've answered PART of your question, before I answer the rest, I will say I have to agree with you - Bush is certainly NOT in the running for "best President of the century", let alone "best President ever". He's made his share of mistakes. He's often an insufferable boob when he speaks, but that's true about a lot of people. But your last question, WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY, well the answer there is in part our schools & universities where people are taught to expect the government to be their mommy, daddy & Santa Clause. They are told not to be responsible for themselves. If they need health care, let the government take care of it. If they need money in old age because they were too stupid to look ahead and plan, let the government take care of it. If they were too dumb to get out of town before a hurricane hit, it's the government's fault, not theirs. (If you're "too poor" to get out of town, which is BS, then YOU are making wrong choices in your life, I guarantee it, and it is NOT the government's fault.) If you get pregnant or you're a guy who gets a girl pregnant, don't worry, there's a government approved abortion waiting just around the corner. These all illustrate what is wrong with our country. Elements on the left want to destroy it by weakening people and making them abdicate their personal responsibilities as they add more and more burdensome government programs & services. SO that's the answer to the most important question you asked. Now on to the last thing I did not address.

I am sorry, you are not smarter than the Bush administration, well with the possible execption of people in it that were holdovers from the Clinton administration or maybe Colin Powell, who left a while back. If you were it would be you up there in the news every day making the mistakes they are making trying to deal with complex and sometimes insoluable problems that often don't have a right answer. For instance - what would you do about North Korea, a country that admits they now have nukes thanks to the plan Jimmy Carter brokered with them for Bill Clinton? Attack them & invite a response by China (as happened last time)? What would you do about Iran today? The people there are for the most part good & wonderful people. It's the Mullah's and that insane president of theirs that are the problem. So how do you just get rid of THEM and leave the vast majority of good Iranians alive & untouched? How would YOU accomplish THAT? Chavez in Venezuela... another raving nutcase lefty dictator, how would you deal with him? DO we go back to the days of state-sponsored assassination or just roll in there with the marines as Chavez hints we are already planning on doing? Tell me how YOU would handle some UNSOLVED problem in the world and let's all decide if YOUR approach would be any better than what the Bush administration did, or is doing, about it.

You do have a point. Just keep in mind that hindsight is 20:20. When the President makes a decision to go to war and it turns out that the information he gave is wrong he is either a liar or a fool. Since it is his job to know what he is doing and he has the tools to do the job he is guilty of something. The name doesn't matter it is the outcome and this is his fault.

Those people were paid to say those things about our president, and paid to attract followers. keep in mind that the ugly truth is best hid when there are lies that are very similar being yelled loudly.

mud is best hidden under other mud.
