Right click your folder and choose "Hidden". That way visitors won't be able to see your folder. When you want to access the hidden folders, go to Tools>Folder Options>View>Show hidden files and folders

for this u need to have a third party software. if u r using xp and ntfs file system u can do it. but without all these u can still protect ur files. follow these steps.
first copy the file/s into a folder on some drive say for c:\
let the folder name be anything like (important)
go to dos mode (for windows 98se) or cmd prompt (for xp)
go to the location where the folder (important - in our example) is located here it is C:\
u should see at the dos prompt like this C:\
now using the ren (rename) command rename the important folder to a ascii coded folder name.
e.g: c:\ren important Alt+158
(u need to hold the Alt key and press the 1,5&8 keys on the numpad only (important) any other three digit number also works eg. 164, 171, 198 etc.
now it is locked no one can open it or delete it.
now to unlock follow the same method
go to the same location and
c:\ren Alt+158 important
the folder is again renamed to important now u can access it.any one can access it. (i don't know whether it works in xp or not)

Go to command prompt and rename your folder to 255 i.e give the command ren folder name ( press alter key and 255 from the numerical key pad) your folder will be asigned to a blank and a blank folder without any name will be displayed. If one tries to double click on the folder it will give an error. Rename the folder whenever you require and use it. Note: you can also hide the 255 folder so that nobody sees even the blank folder.

It is possible with Windows only if you are
1. Administrator
2. You have NTFS partition
Folder --> Right click -> Properties --> security -->
Here you can define access rights for different users the way you want.

I'd choose the "hide" feature suggested by another. and you could get windows virtual PC which can be your own computer within a computer.
or VMWare, which does the same thing.
