Copying from a CD, check back of CD for scratches or smug marks. Lay CD on a clean paper cloth and rotate vigorously to remove smudges.

If your system is old, year or more and you have never defragged the hard drive, your system may be looking for space to write and is ending up creating a lot of tiny bits of data all over the drive to write one file.

You should delete all files that you have created but no longer use or are interested.

Use the search and find all *.TMP files and delete all that the system will let you delete.

Defrag the hard drive.

Try error-checking your disk. Do this by opening up My Computer, then right click on the main drive (usually the C drive), click Properties, then tab Tools.

you may have an anti-virus or anti-adware software that may be conflicting. Sometimes when you install or update this or any other type of software, it may cause that kind of problem. or you have a virus or spyware. Good Luck!

You could also be running too many programs at once, running out of ram memory. though this should give you an error mesg.
