it was my daughter that did it and she says she was drunk, but i think it is legal in iowa and that is about the only state that it is still legal and i think its a bunch of ****

we intend to call the police but we are waiting til morning. our daughter was supposed to be spending the night at a friends house and to our surprise she stayed somewhere else where this all took place. and yes the man has to be sick.

No, it's not illegal. The age of sexual consent for a female in Iowa is 14. Sorry to hear about your situation, but you don't have any case against this man. Every state has a different age consent and that is not cool. Every State in the Union should be like California which is 18.

By your question Im understanding that you are saying that "your daughter had sex with a 35 year old guy". What happened is so wrong no matter what the law says!!! I think that this is a serious situation, so it is not a responsible thing to ask people on the net about this stuff. Go to a lawyer or to the police, tell them about all this and ask them for help.
Talk to your daughter about life, about sex and about what consecuences she will live if she let things like this happen. Take her to a clinic of pregnant teenagers or ask a counselor to help you with her.
But...If you are the 35 year old guy that's having sex with a minor...well you know that sooner or later you will pay the concequences of your acts. Im sure of that.
If you are the girl that's having sex with an adult...know that sex is a pleasure, but that feeling will last just for a short period of time. Then you will suffer the very possible consequences as well: a pregnacy, a sexually transmited desease, or date rape...and you will stop living a stage of your life that is beautiful: the teenage years.

I assume you are that 16 year old girl. (or perhaps she's your friend) Any grown man that is willing to have sex or perform any sort of sexual act with a young girl should be castrated. It may or not be illegal in Iowa, I'm not sure, but does it really matter? Any man that would do this is obviously very sick and it would not be in your (or your friends) best interest.

is cultural,in Iran you can marry a 9 years old,but if you are 35 why dont look for some one a little more close to your age

He needs to be reported. He may have a record of previous acts. This is not legal and totally unacceptable. He needs to be accountable for his actions. We need to do all we can to stop this behavior or they just keep stealing our babies.
