If u mean that you couldn't clear the history from Internet Options - Clear history , there may be some active pages or internet explorer open dat current pages will not be removed.

You could also do one thing in internet explorer go to view-explorer bar - History or Press Ctrl+H

On left on side a tab or bar or window will open which will show u the pages u visited from there you could delete the ones you want and the ones you don't want.

Click on the Start icon, go to the control panel, then click on Network & Internet Connections, then enter Internt Options. From there you are able to delete flies, cookies, and the history and even adjust how long you keep the history log. All history on the address will clear until your next use.

Have a close look at the icons on the tool bar. Can you see a small black upside down triangle at the side of every icon, well if you click on it a drop down menu will appear with all sorts of things on it.
The one you want is on the left of the search box. look for options and personalize your tool bar.
you can also highlight the search and press delete on your keyboard.
