An RS was stick and came with a 350 and the SS came with a 396 an was automatic.

Ok Juggalo, the diff is just in trim pieces like wheels grills ect. In the 60's you could get a SS camaro with a 6 cylinder or a wicked V-8, In the 90's Camaro's the SS was a fast car, and the RS was a V-6.

rs is rally sport well ss is supersport rs came with better suspention and rally style wheels well ss came with std or auto trans a big block more power options in 68 were your choise but most customers perfered the v8s over the 6 cly engines also most perfered stds over automatics

my first car was a 68 R.S.
it rolled out of the factory with a big block. (427.) but the main difference is the chrome package and factory wheels.
