basically what i need is helpful information and advice towards working with weights. i need to know how many reps i should do, how often, and what to work out. im not looking for a total olympic body, but a six pack wouldnt hurt.i go to 24 hour fitness, and i just need to know like, what i should do, what i should eat, and maybe a plan. because to be honest, im totally lost as to what machines to work out, or how often to work out a specefic body. like, can anybody devise a plan for me? im 5'8 and i weigh about 230 lbs.
heres what i usually do.
when i get there, i run about 1-2 miles in about 15 mins.
then i work my arms using various machines
after that, i work my legs
then my abs
and im done.
is there something im doing wrong? or should i keep up with this plan? im not sure if what im doinf is correct or not.
thanks to everyone for their input.

Warm up and stretch first.

15 minutes on the stationary bike.

leg lifts next

then ab crunches

then bench presses.

then dumbell exercises

1 minute intervals

basic rep is 8 reps

start with the minimum of 25 to 30 lbs. then add on weight every month.

After three months then you can target areas you want to bulk up on.

hope this helps.

you're doing nothing wrong. a few pointers
-don't overdo it: many people have a tendency to use too heavy weights or train to intensly resulting in injuries start off with light weights and gradually build up.
- for a six pack there is no training except for losing weight: no crunches or sit ups will help in making your abs show you need to lose weight for that
-be carefull with supplements: There's many supplements that promise improvement in various facets of training be carefull as some are not as healthy as they say. I personally vow by using Whey as it's a natural product made from cheese whey.
Further more
keep at it
it takes patience to see result but it's worth it in the end.
