I would have to say that would be both rushed and in poor taste. People might think you had something going on before and if you did, that's your business.
You need time to grieve, no matter what the relationship was like and jumping into a new marriage right away could be a mistake. What's the rush anyways??

Seen it a couple of times. Widow gets some cash and the guys are pounding a path especially if their over thirty five. While the guy who just might be Mr right is waiting for an acceptable time to pass, Mr. opportunity is already consoling the grieving widow.
The gossip lasts a couple of weeks but I think every one is glad that the widow will still have a life....
I wouldn't expect everyone to make a ta-doo over the thing.
If you cant wait I would recommend eloping.
But why can't you wait?

First of all, if my spouse died it would take me a hell of a lot longer than 2 months to mourn their death. Also, since I would still be grieving it would be impossible to fall in love with someone so shortly after losing a loved one. That is if you loved your spouse if the first place. It seems kind of heartless and insulting to be remarrying again so soon but whatever.

Probably not OK "socially". Was it a long illness? If so, you might have had a long time to mentally prepare for the inevitable. You might be mentally ready to move on, but your friends and family aren't going to see it that way. You might want to wait a year or so just to let everyone get used to the idea of you remarrying.
Nevertheless, you need to do what feels right to you. If you really want to get remarried, then go for it.

There is no law that states you cannot, but really, how could anyone even consider this after onlly two months?! Either you are marrying on the rebound or you must have been dating this person a long time prior to the demise. This looks bad and rather tacky.

Why is everyone always worried about what other people are thinking about them and what they are doing? If you worry about what other people think you will never accomplish anything in your life. If you are waiting for that 100% approval rating you will die a lonely person. I think you are the only one who knows if it would be "socially" OK or not you are the one in the relationship. To answear your question ask yourself "How do I want other people to or do I even care what other people think about me socially?" If we stoped worrying about what other people think of the things we do we would probably live a much happier life.

No, it is not. Two months in these circumstances will be construed by the local gossips as "a matter of weeks" and will lead to is unfortunate presumptions about your fidelity to your late spouse.

You can remarry the minute you get that death certificate if not before, at least legally. Socially, f*** what others think. I think that people seek other people's approval a lot more than they should. It's YOUR life, and not anyone else's. If you and your fiance think that it is okay to marry after two months, IT IS OKAY PERIOD.

Wow! I think it would be totally disrespectful of the deceased spouse and would actually look like you had been seeing this person while your spouse was alive.
I definitely think it would be in bad taste.

Two months? Sheesh... Give the body time to get cold will ya? Sounds like you already had something going... In that case, I say go for it. It'll show your friends how heartless and deceitful you really are.
