Which time of the year is best to visit London.?

June and July for summer heat. There are plenty of concerts and its not yet the crowds of August. Londoners all come out of hibernation around now after winter, we are in the parks, the bars start uilising their garden bar areas and we are generally celebrating the Summer!

If you come in September the days are getting shorter though the Autumn leaves are beautiful, in winter its fun to go iceskating but its FREEZING and dark at 4pm instead of 10pm!

Wear good walking shoes because London is a superb walking city. Bring a good map of the city and begin. Be a happy tourist and first hop on one of the major red double decker tour buses which afford you a perfect overview of London and you can "hop on and off" as often as you please...some for two days! Know London has many beautiful parks which can be your oasis when needing a rest. Kensington Gardens in one of the world's wealthiest areas - See Princess Di's Kensington Palace and shop Kensington High St. and wander up Church St. for boutiques and such. Nearby: Royal Albert Hall, Science Museum, Natural History Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum. Hyde Park connects to Kensington Gardens. Explore Chelsea for boutiques as well. St. James Park - beautiful, sole restaurant inside. Green Park - high tea at the Ritz, Fortnum & Mason, Picadilly Circus (think Times Square). Shopping streets: Oxford, Bond, check for weekly markets...BUY "TIMEOUT LONDON" weekly magazine. Boat trip on the Thames - a must. I always go in February. Yes, it's ALOT colder than if you were to go in the sumer, but there are not any tourists there that time of year, you dont have to wait in lines to see attractions, the cost of lodging and airfare is a fraction of what it would be in the summer and I have ALWAYS had as much fun as the summer months.

Like most any other city, it depends on what you want to do & see. Not being known as a "tropical clime", beach activities might not come into play. Do you like the Theatre, Ballet....are you interested in Fashion, sports (soccer rules!).....museums? London is lovely during the Christmas Holiday season and it's really not so cold. Summer time, a little more expensive, but less rain and more sunshine, Winter, cheaper, but cold and very damp, you can never seem to get the chill out of your bones, uggahhhhhhhhh!

london has a high gun crime rate, so watch out, better weather = better shooting

If your american,I'd advise going on the day of a bombing of a bus so u can buy your ticket on that bus & have front row seats.
