1-minute work of John=1/30
1-minute work of Sue=1/45
1-minute work of Tony=1/90(1 & 1/2 hrs=90 mins)
Adding them ,we get
1-minute work of(John+Sue+Tony)=1/30+1/45+1/90
=6/90=1/15
So,the trio can finish the work in 15 minutes.(ANS.)

15 minutes

In 90 minutes:

Jim can do the job 3 times.
Sue can do the job 2 times.
Tony can do the job 1 time.

Together, all 3 can do the job 6 times in 90 minutes. 90/6=15.

Let's say it takes 30 gallons. Jim = 1 gal/min. Sue= .666 gal/min. Tony=.333 gal/min. Sue+Tony=1 gal/min. 1 gal/min + 1 gal/min = 2 gal/min. 30/2 = 15, so 15 minutes.
