One of the imagined targets was the World Trade Center. In another exercise, jets performed a mock shootdown over the Atlantic Ocean of a jet supposedly laden with chemical poisons headed toward a target in the United States. In a third scenario, the target was the Pentagon — but that drill was not run after Defense officials said it was unrealistic, NORAD and Defense officials say.

Don't you think that if the government was culpable of such an elaborate scheme as the attacks of 9/11, they would also be capable of silencing all the dissenters who are coming up with the theories? Since most of those accusations are popping up on the Internet, wouldn’t they be doing what the governments of China, Russia, Iran etc… are doing and filter what gets on the Internet, then track the origins of the attempted postings and go pay those guys a little visit and arrange some unfortunate accidents. Website like LOOSECHANGE.com wouldn’t make off the server; guys like Michal Moore wouldn’t make it out the door. After all if the government did it they had to kill 3,000 of their citizens to accomplish it, do you really think that they would then hesitate to bump off a few dissenters who would otherwise expose them? After all, the people who start these rumors are not that many in the beginning and it wouldn’t take much to stop them at the root before the idea catches on and thousands jump on the band wagon. It would take much less to stop a few bozos than it would to put together all the intricate details necessary to pulling of something of the scale of 9/11. Would it not make sense to “protect your investment”? Just use logic. Your theories stop abruptly at the point where if they continued their logical course they would self destruct.

We didn't need an excuse the war with Iraq was never over there was no peace treaty betwenn the US and Iraq there was only a ceasefire agreement that was violated repeatedly over the past 10yrs. And I suppose yopu think we hired those Arabic men to fly the planes. And also the Us military runs simulations on all kinds of scenarios including nuking China but you don't see us doing that do you? Why would a country involved in the middle of a war send agents into the field to destroy a Multi-million dollar piece of field artillery?

The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was also U.S. military plan that was scrapped as unfeasible. They two biggest reasons they shelve or scrap such scenarios (and they've pretty much thought of all of them) is the complexity of coordination required and the fact that we can only be reactionary to certain attacks - by the time we are aware of it it is too late.

even before this i had a feeling the US Gov't was behind the Attacks on 9/11 it was just a gut feeling, now i can't say for sure but there are records that show Osama bin laden was working for or with the CIA in Afghanistan during the russian occupation. i would not be surprised if they are still working together, i just feel bad for all those families that lost loved ones in 9/11, regardless of who is behind it

If they did have those drills to prepare themselves from a terrorist attack dont you think they would have stoped them, that doesn't say much . but of course theyll have drills to protect americas mostly likely targeted areas . isnt this sensible .
