Believe it not sometimes you should not. Depends on what the person did and if they admitted that they did it and are actually and really sorry and have changed their ways. Otherwise, move on. Some things/behaviors are unacceptable no matter what.

you are giving no context. Why would you want to forgive and trust someone? Maybe this person doesn't deserve it or maybe he will do it again? People don't change their spots. They really don't. I didn't used to believe it, but I do now. So, if you are happy with this person and they just messed up and really are on the whole a good supportive fun person who is respectful of themselves and you and where you blossom, then you need to learn to get over the mistrust. If it is a pattern with this person then MOVE ON! (if this person cheated on you, you can bet this person will do it again.) There is a time for being the bigger person and being compassionate. Then there are times to haul *** and say, Buh-bye, you are not good enough for me and I need to be somewhere else where I get what I need and deserve. Best of luck to you!

If the pain is that deep and you feel you cannot trust, then it's best to find a way to move on. To stay in a relationship where you have doubts will hurt you and your partner, and ultimately destroy the relationship
