You're right RLP....when a Liberal takes a stand on something, it's usually with a wet finger pointed in the sky.
They will say or do anything it takes to get back in the driver's seat in Washington. Even sounding like their enemies when it can sway a vote or two.

A lot of the democrates voted for the war because of the pork behind it.
John Kerry voted against the pull out despite saying he would have supported the war, because there was bad pork.

Quit generalizing. The few Democrats who voted for it do not represent me as much as that idiot John Skerry running around on here represents you (hopefully). You are going to have politicians - DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS - saying anything they can to get a vote.
By the way, a Democrat named Lieberman voted FOR the war. How is he doing right now with the people in CT?

I have never heard a liberal say they are for the war and I have never seen them vote for it. Liberals don't vote in congress, congressmen do, congressmen tend to vote for things based on their personal interests not those of the people. Congress didn't vote for this war, in case you don't remember Bush started it without them. And while we are on the topic, how many republicans do what they say they will?

This Liberal Democrat agrees that my party displayed an agonizing lack of spine in resisting the president's call for an invasion of Iraq.
Rather than put themselves in the bullseye and stand behind their beliefs, they played politics and now they are paying the price.
Because in the end you have to decide to stand for something and not just what you think is popular. I personally believe this is one of the things that most aggravate conservatives. Even as wrong-headed as I believe GWB has been, he never wavers from his beliefs (even when perhaps he should).
A man/woman has to be true to their beliefs...conservative ...liberal ...stick up for what you believe in and don't waffle. People don't have to agree or like your views, but they will respect you for your conviction.

The war is lost! Get out of your Republican fantasy world and look around. Our Army is stuck in Baghdad. We can not leave and we can not win militarily. So what are you Republicans going to do about it? Let me help. You started the war and lost the War,and We Democrats will get us out of Iraq.
So wake up Neocon's, we told you it was the wrong war in the wrong place at and wrong time for the wrong reason with the wrong number of Troops and the wrong number of tanks and the wrong Humvees with no Armor, but you Republicans are consistent, you never listen!

Like chimichanga said, you're generalizing. Not all liberals do that, and not all people who "SAY one thing and DO another" are liberals. Plenty of the people who do that are conservatives. One of them is the *ucking president. Wasn't there a time when he said we shouldn't be nation-building? And how about this? There IS a link between Iraq and 9/11! There ISN'T a link between Iraq and 9/11! *smacks self in the face with each statement* There is! There isn't! There is! There isn't!
Heh, 3 of you didn't like what I had to say? What's the matter? Can't handle the truth? Reality? Think it's ok for the people you support to do it, but still want the right to whine about it when people you don't support do it? Get a grip, grow the f*ck up, and try taking a fair, objective look at things. Pathetic.

They realized that they messed up, and for the sake of their own political careers, they feel that admitting they were wrong, and bashing the president with get them votes.

I am a liberal, and I did NOT vote for this "war". If a senator or congressperson who I voted for actually did vote for this "war", I will NOT vote for that person again!
If our elected officials changed their minds, are they not allowed to do that?
Didn't think so!
Use your brain, little girl.

because someone in congress doesn't effing speak for me
i'm liberal... so? Just because another liberal does something doesn't mean I agree. If that was true then you have to answer for Hitler, he was (loosely) on your side of the spectrum... sure he was an extremist but he was there.
If you're going to tell me that all liberals think however their politicians think then you need to get out more. Not everyone thinks the same way.
People on this forum are so STUPID.
