meera we can improve relations if the leaders of both the countries can come to a consensus and make a conscious decision to broker peace. Indians and Pakistani people do not want to fight , both sides want peace but unless Pakistan's leader does not take steps to prevent cross border terrorism this can not be achieved India will not come to reconciliation table of any sorts till Pakistan can show that they can maintain the sanctity of the LOC and not keep crossing over to the other side! If they can show India this then maybe it will be easier to broker peace between the countries but as long as Pakistan says that LOC will not be respected and keep funding cross border terrorism it is even stupid to think there will ever be peace between the 2 countries ever.( it is just a fools fantasy )
Spanky - I do not know which nation you are from which believes in Nuking other Countries! It is a answer in bad taste.

So long as they remain hostile neighbours, they will always spat. The problem needs a bold decision. Solution is there and it has been tried out in other parts of world. But will politicians on either side give it a chance. the problems between India and Pakistan started when sub continent was divided in two countries. Now, if they were to unite once again, 90% of the problems will vanish. There won't be a Kashmir problem, alt east with Pakistan. If Kashmiris still want azadi, they will have to fight it out of their own and not rest on Pakistan. If Germanys could unite, why can't India and Pakistan?.

It requires only one thing----real , sound political will on both the sides and resolution of long pending issues like kashmir and terrorisms.
