Someone told me it was an acronym for Good As You, but I have never been able to verify this. The earlier meaning of being licentious was adapted as a slang for a nineteenth century prostitute. It was subsequently claimed by the gay movement as an affirmative term. Words change. Lately it means something bad. I wouldn't worry too much about words. At the best of times they can be used to construct things of beauty, like poetry. Most of the time they are yelled out of a car window.

Gay means two men living together and having sexual intercourse from the anus. Many men know that they have these tendencies in the adolescent years and grow up to maturity until accurately acting upon them. Gay could also mean being happy at what your doing (having a gay time). The bible speaks against men lying with men as being WRONG.... This was written thousands of years ago.

Before str8 people started using it to insult homosexuals it meant bright, jolly happy frivolous light hearted.
Funny, now that it is no longer an insult the right wing christian fundamentalists (mentalists for short) want it back and say it was hijacked by gay people. lol
