The players themselves have no official say in terms of which cap they'll wear on their hall of fame plaque. That is all decided by the Hall of Fame itself.

Players can make their feelings known on the subject, but they have no official input.

I would think Piazza would go in as a Met, since he led them to two NLCS's and a World Series. The Dodgers never made it past the NLDS during his tenure with them.

He played enough years in New York to go in as a Met. (seven and a half years... he played six years with the Dodgers)

Catfish Hunter, who won 3 World Series with the A's plus another two with the Yankees, does not have a team emblem on his HOF plaque. This sometimes happens when a player has a major impact on more than one Franchise.

Not saying that will happen in Piazza's case, but you never know.

I think he should go in as a Met.

It'll be interesting to see which cap Roger Clemens wears when he goes to Cooperstown...he might be the next to go in without an official emblem.

When Mike came to NY he said when he is inducted into the hall of fame he wanted to go in as a NY Mets because they game him a 7 year contract and built their team around him.The Mets made a commitment to him no other team would. It was Piazzas team for a while. Since Dave Winfield sold himself to the Padres, the baseball Hall of fame change the rule and said whatever team a player was with the longest is the hat they will wear in the hall of fame. For Piazza that would be the Mets

There's NO DOUBT Piazza will make the Hall of Fame. Whoever thinks differently isn't paying attention. He's the greatest hitting catcher in history. If that's not a Hall of Famer, I don't know what is.

It's a toss-up if the Hall will put him in as a Dodger or Met. when you look at the stats, his years with the Dodgers were better.

becasue he is one of the best offensive cathers in the game. He played his great games with the Mets and lead them to a world series. The dodgers traded his ***. Mike Piazza is the $hit.

You go into the Hall of Fame as a member of the team you played for the longest by default.

Mike's most productive years were in the Big Apple, no doubt about it and he will wear a Met's hat when he is inducted. I said when not if. He is definitely going to be on the HOF.

He is not even going into the hall of fame. He is nothing more than an OK catcher with a weak arm.

The Dodgers gave up on him and treated him poorly. He is known for playing for the Mets, thats when he became famous and a full fledge star.
