Basically, video games can affect children psychologically, but only if their parents do not interfere with their gaming. It's the same as media advertising; if parents do not control the amount of television their children watch, the media can take over. Children are easily affected by what they see and experience. Therefore, if they are not given limits and taken care of properly in other respects, they can be gravely affected. Just remember that it is not this way for all children. Think about peer pressure amongst teenagers to do drugs. No matter what is told to some teens, they would never touch drugs because they are too strong to let others affect their decisions. Some children may be this way toward the media and violence in video games as well.

It sure can affect the way people behave, but it sure as hell CANNOT fry brain cells. I've been influenced. After playing too much hitman and gta games, I suddenly have the urge to pick up sniper rifle and blow the brains out of George W. Bush!!!

Actually, I saw a news report that said video game skills can help people who want to go into certain types of medicine. Those tiny little cameras they run into blood vessels are controlled in the same way video games are... so I believe we're actually training our future doctors!

No they're using video games as an escape. Video games actually are a source of entertainment. They also teach hand-eye coordination.

IT IS UP TO THE PARENTS TO TEACH ANY YOUNG GAME PLAYERS THE REALITIES AND "RIGHT AND WRONG" OF LIFE. IF THE KID KILLS SOMEONE BECAUSE OF THE VIDEO GAME, IT'S NOT THE KIDS FAULT, IT'S THE PARENTS FAULT.
I GREW PLAYING GAMES AND I DO BELIEVE THAT PLAYING GAMES BUILDS HAND/EYE COORDINATION AND A HIGHER INTELLECT

No....The parents are to blame. If more parents would punish their kids, like they used to i.e belt whipping, there would be no violent kids
