If you are using Windows XP, you do not need either of these additional firewall programs, because the OS has it's own firewall program in it. Check this out on your internet options menu. If you are using another or different OS, I would prefer McAfee over Zone Alarm. It is not a good idea to have two firewall programs running, uninstall one of these first, then restart the system so that the uninstallation is completed.

Does McAfee give you the option to disable the firewall? If so, then this might be preferable, at least temporarily. That way, you could go back to it if you wanted, without starting over with configuration.
If not, then you may want to uninstall it, as two firewalls may interfere with each other, or may simply deny you access to the Internet. YMMV.

McAfee is a notoriously poor personal security software option for you home PC. Not being mean, just issuing personal experience in the form of advice. McAfee isn't as detailed and indepth as Norton Antivirus. If you have norton in conjunction with Ad-Aware, you're in good shape. McAfee just doesn't properly protect PC's. Case in point, my computer was hacked while using McAfee but not since I switched to Norton. It could be coincidence, but I refuse to believe in coincidence.
