I lost the love of my life last year. He died at the age of 43. One day before his 44th birthday..I loved him more than life itself and the pain of losing him will be with me for the rest of my life. I was ripped off by fate..We were so in love . I really feel that if I never met him I would not be in such agonizing pain from having lost him but the time we had together I would not trade for anything in this world and to tell you the truth, I don't care about this lousy world much anymore..I can't even stand to see happy couples out in public because it just makes me want to cry my eyes out because I ask God..why us? why did you give us each other only to rip us apart and break my heart forever...
I guess that I should be grateful that I know what true love really is. Not many people ever know it...Love is painful especially when you are a widow still in love with your husband..I can't stand to look at Keifer Sutherland because my late husband was the spitting image of him...I sure hope that this pain will go away one day...Well, like Reba sings..The world didn't stop for my broken heart..

Yes. Why? Well because how are we to ever truly appreciate anything if we have not experienced losing something we have loved? If you were to have never loved at all, there would simply be no joy in life at all. You must know how it feels to lose something you love before you can enjoy life.

I just discussed this with my daughter last night and I think for the first couple months after the "lost" you would swear not, but after that you realize that it is better to have loved....

I loved one man before my husband. That was many years ago and I was in so in love with him it hurt - at the time. When he broke up with me I thought I would die - literally. But, I got over it and married my soul mate. But, I wouldn't have changed the time I spent with Tony for the world and still think of him fondly and even speak with him at times - like at funerals and such.

yes
because we are a sum of our experiences (someone said that once) we are who we are because of what we have done, who we have met, and what we have learned. and all the pain is always worth it. no regrets. (try watching
'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' which is kinda about your question)
