Because a woman's place is in the home. If I were running the country I would order all women out of the work place and they would go home and do housework and after that I would resign and go home and submit to my husband.

Totally right but, what were the rules when u 2 moved in together?? Rules make the difference best to be clear at all times . These are old school rules that some ppl men and women still live by so just ask next time and weigh your options out whether u wanna date this guy/girl

Because men and women are different...
In addition to what sinful_vampyra said, consider the fact that culturally, socially and physically, we have different roles. Those roles are of course somewhat fluid and they change over time. It's entirely up to the two people involved in the relationship to determine which rules they choose to live by.
The question for each couple to decide is: do you want to appreciate and accentuate the differences between the sexes or do you want to attempt to minimize those differences and perhaps pretend they don't exist?
My wife and I have always appreciated the differences-and still do-although we are a little more flexible now that the kids are older and she works outside the house.
BTW, I love to cook and have learned to actually enjoy cleaning as well. I just don't have as much time to do it as my wife does.

Traditional family roles had the woman tending to the house and the men paying for the house.
Unfortunately, most men nowadays still consider it to be the woman's job even if she works outside the home. Old habits die hard.

I used to feel the same way too at my BF's hse. But no choice as it's my own choice. =D
Talk to HIM!!!! Tell HIM how you feel!!!
Many a times, I will tell him how unappreciated I feel. He will feel guilty n volunteer to wash n clean up after I cook. Somtimes he would even cook for me n I will do the same thing as well. Some how we had fun in the kitchen cooking together.
So cheer up la... It's your choice.
Sumtimes woman have to be more naive and small so as to get pampered n gain more love ya...
Stay cool.....

Blame it on the fathers! You can break the cycle by putting your foot down and telling the lazy buggers to get up off of their behinds and clean. You have to stand firm!

Men see their mothers accept that role and follow suit....and as long as men are brought up that way it will never change.
Yeah, I know where you are coming from on that one and if I hear ONE MORE TIME what a wonderful husband he is - from his mother, I am going to hurl.

They learn it from their parents. Usually their mothers did it and their fathers (if they were around) worked outside the home and did much of nothing inside the home. You just need to let them know you are going for it.

I'm a man and I agree with you. I do a lot of cooking and cleaning....I don't expect anyone to do it for me. That's not why I need a woman in my life. In fact, I'm a better cook than my g/f...by her own admission. Whoa!!!
