Because you are afraid sex might be painful, there is reason to be concerned that it might be. Just like any time your body is penetrated, if you are not relaxed and focused on enjoying yourself, you will be more tense and essentially fulfill your worry because you are worrying about it! It's funny how the mind works like that.
Your concern is unwarranted. The vagina is an extremely stretchy muscle and is designed to accept a penis. If you are really worried about it, you can spend some time with a sex toy to ease your worry, but it is certainly not a requirement.
On the night in question, be sure to start slowly. Be sure you spend plenty of time on foreplay for both of you. If possible, you should make every effort to have an orgasm before penetration, it will ensure you are very well lubricated and in many cases causes vaginal muscles to temporarily relax a bit, and it will certainly help you relax mentally.
Congrats on finding someone special, be sure to be safe, and relax! This is what those parts were made for :-P

Lots and lots of foreplay. A good lube and a condom. Relax with romantic music and candlelight and I'm sure you won't feel any pain. Maybe slightly discomfited when he penetrates you for the first time but not pain.

I have gone through long periods of celibacy also. The emotional aspects were harder for me to deal with. Physically everything is all good. It's not like you actually get rusty. ha ha Be honest about your history with your partner. If you can't talk about it perhaps you shouldn't be doing it.

Tell him to be gentle, go slow, use lots of lube and just relax. If it doesn't happen the first time, so what? At least enjoy yourself. And congratulations on getting back into it. ;)

Be careful, and take it as slow as you need to. If he can't respect that, he obviously isn't good enough for you.
