It sounds like eczema or psoriasis. Go to a Dermatologist to make sure, and if it is he/she is going to prescribe you elidel or some other thick cream medicine, but please go to a doctor immediately.

Often this condition results from a deficiency in the diet of essential fatty acids; Cod liver oil or a liquid broad spectrum essential fatty acid product such as Swanson Vitamin's EFA Complete could be rubbed on the skin and given in small (1/2 to 1 teaspoonful) doses 2 or 3 times daily. Improvement should be rapid if this is the cause and the dose can be titrated down when the child is fully recovered.

Well at her age it could be a sign of Eczema. This is a hereditary disease. It causes the skin to itch and rash and when it is scratched, it burns. I don't know what causes it but you can use a medicine called "Triamcinolone". Use Dove and Caress soap on her skin. It is better to use vaseline or maybe some lotion for eczema. Triamcinolone is what works for my child. Everyone's skin is different. You can only buy it from pharmacy. Just consult with your doctor .

You might want to try having your daughter tested for allergies. Skin irritations can be a symptom of food allergies, allergies to something in the air (like pollen), household cleaners, clothes detergent, shampoos, or soaps.

As a starting point, I would switch to hypoallergenic clothes detergent, soap and shampoo. These products are not significantly different in cost than regular cleaners, and swithing could make a big difference.

maybe you should change something with the bath. Is the water too hot? maybe different soap. Maybe don't use much soap. I had problems with back acne and I quit soaping my back. It cleared up. Different water has different effects on the skin too. If I take a shower at my parrents house, I get dry skin. I've never heard of dry skin on someone so young.
