I don't have a problem with that. I could possibly support a Republican Hispanic. Why not, if I agree with his policies, doesn't matter. You will see a Hispanic run sooner or later. Look for Jeb Bush's son to run one day, he is half Hispanic.
Keep in mind that Hispanic's are very diverse. Some are white, some are black. Mexican's are very different from Puerto Rican's. Most Cuban Americans are Republican. Most Puerto Rican's are Democrats.
That one day will come soon. Whether they will win or not, who knows. Bill Richardson from New Mexico is a potential prez candidite on the Dem side in 2008. I don't think he will run though.

For most people it would depend on what kind of hispanic ran. A person of indigenous Guatemalan descent would be viewed differently than Cuban of Spanish descent. The Guatemalan would probably be seen as more of a threat since people would think they look Mexican. A lot of people think Mexicans are trying to take over, so they might not want to vote for a "Mexican looking" person. As for me, I really don't care if they're hispanic as long as they seem like a good candidate.

LegallyBlonde........that is funny, an honest politician, hehe come here and let me blow in your ear and give you a refill. J/k darling I bet you are really sweet and we all know blondes are the most lovely girls in the universe.
I would not vote for a hispanic for president because most of them here are loyal to mexico and not this country. They do not appreciate what the U.S has done for them and dont live by our laws but try to do what they did back home. In my neighborhood we call them kinds of people traitors. And for the ones that say you dont feel that way blame your bro's for all the dumb protesting they have done lately while they were breaking OUR laws.

We don't know for sure if a person of his panish heritage has not already ran for office and won..
Spainish is a language, not a race. I don't know why people think so different. Spain is a European Country. They are for the most part white. many of them have blue eyes, and blond hair.
They are mixed as is Britian or France with different tones of color.
The mexicans who come here for the fields are of Indian heritage for tthe most part. Some are mixed with White or other. It's very possible that one of our past presidents was of some spainish heritage as Spain at one time controlled or claimed florida, and most of the south western U.S.A.. When they were pushed put many stayed and blended in with the culture.
Many of our congressmen are or have been of Spainish Heritage, but you would never know it because they all are American.
Spainish is just that a language. Florida Governor Jeb Bush's wife is a Cuban American. Some American Congressmen or state Congressmen were of past white/indian heritage, and no one noticed because they spoke English, looked American, and acted American. That is how a person of Spainish heritage gets elected president, and Americans would vote for him or her based on qualifications, not his/her language . If the canadate shows up waving a Mexican, Cuban,British,or or Iranian flag show his/her butt the door to Mexico or Cuba or Britian, or Iran.

Are Hispanics dumber than all the other immigrants to this country? I'm fine with it if they are legal. But your question screams of racism. This country was founded on immigrants, You might say could a black man run, or a Irish man or a women? If they are qualified for the job, I would vote for them no matter what color they are.

I would be happy to vote for him/her as long as I agreed with their political views and they would have to be highly qualified (I wouldnt want some hispanic person obtaining presidency just because they are hispanic).

Just great--as long as he wasn't the AG Gonzalez who is more loyal to repressive concepts than to the freedom and rights of American citizens.
Why should anyone care what ethnic group the president comes from? We need competence and concern for the citizenry in that job!

I would be fine with it, as long as he/she was well-qualified. Your question reminds me of when JFK was running for president (when I was in high school). Lots of people questioned whether a Roman Catholic should be president. That seems like pretty primitive thinking to us now, but JFK was the first Roman Catholic to be elected president.
