I saw some repeats of Harry Potter, and I agree, but I will give a couple other books to help out.
1) The Ingenuity Gap, Thomas Homer Dixon. An informative book on social issues.
2) Neverwhere, Neil Gaiman. Is a little on the twisted side, and I will not say what story it emulates.
3) Map Of Bones, James Rollins. A lot like The Da Vinci Code, but ten times better.
I hope those help out, and hope that you enjoy reading them.

Well, I have a few. My two favourite adult books are A Million Little Pieces by James Frey, and The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Good luck in getting 100 answers!

It's one of my favourites...
"The Sweet Smell of Psychosis" by Will Self.
This is a great introduction to an amazing writer. It is a collection of short stories that examines the modern day human condition with a twist. Will Self is an extraordinary author, interspersing characters throughout his works and utilizing the English language to near capacity. He will make you think, laugh, become mentally aroused and run for the dictionary on occasion!

Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. Love his storytelling. Such a great literary voice.
I'm also reading one right now called The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Kidd Monk, or Sue Monk Kidd, something like that. Kind of a chick book....but really great writing. It's set in the South in the 60's, so it's about relationships and civil rights, and just life in general.....very good read.
And of course, my good friend Harry Potter....and no, I'm not 13....say I sheepishly....
