If you wind up meeting the person face to face then yes, internet dating could result in a lasting relationship. However, if you are only communicating via letters and MSN, it is really hard to say.

I don't know it's is risky. So much happens over the net and ppl change IRL.... I'd meet them or try to then decide. I have only ONE couple that I know that internet "dated" for 18 months, he flew to Austrailia and met her and now they are having twins a year after that. It can work but you must be cautious

if you are serious about it meet in person. to make something over the internet really work you need to stay in touch and really put up an effort. one of you shoudl move closer to the other so you can see eachother on a regular basis. otherwise it likely wont work at all.

I met my hubby online. Internet dating can work but remember to stay safe and always meet in a public place and just use common sense...

Good luck.
