There's only one show that I used to try to make sure not to miss from the UK. "Red Dwarf." I thought that show was witty, and I loved the tongue-in-cheek humor of it. It managed to poke fun at all of the previous Sci-Fi shows, while at the same time reveling in the fact that they had substandard special effects and props.
I also used to love watching "Black Adder" and "Benny Hill."

Coupling was the best (except series 4 when they lost Jeff), also The Office, Ab Fab, Vicar of Dibley, Chef, Father Ted, and Blackadder

Monty Python, Are You Being Served, Chef, and my all time favorite is Fawlty Towers. I am a manager of a 20 room inn and restaurant in NJ. After a hard day there is nothing like Fawlty Towers to make me howl with laughter.

I really enjoy all the Mystery series from the UK on PBS. My all time favorite series is Prime Suspect with Helen Mirren, but I also liked Inspector Morse, Foyle's War, Inspector Lynley, etc.
They are just fantastic!!!
