My husband and I recently decided to have a baby. Reading about conception, Trying to chart my cycle. We have sex every day, so theoretically doesn't that guarantee conception?

nope, my best advice is start charting. cycle day 1 is the first day of your period, take your temp every morning right after you wake up, before you move getting to around the time you are going to ovulate (like 4 days before) have sex every other day until the day after you ovulate. that give the "troops" time to recoup to get shot out of that cannon again. if you have sex every day it wont necesarrily decrease your chances, but it definalty wont increase your chances. for best results dtd (do the deed) every other day

PS I'm so jealous I wish I had sex every day

Not exactly, I mean, you're kind of covering your bases, making sure you have sex when you're ovulating by having sex every day. But he will have the best sperm lode when he actually hasn't had sex in the last couple days, so your best bet is going to be to figure out when you're going to ovulate, hold back for 4-5 days before that, and then go for it for the next couple days. BTW - orgasm enhances chances of conception b/c the contractions it makes helps propel sperm closer to where it needs to be (since sometimes some of them are weak little swimmers!).

You can figure out when you ovulate a couple of ways:
1) charting basal temp AND cervical mucous, though this method takes a couple months to work since it only tells you you've ovulated AFTER the fact. But if gives you a pattern so you know when you usually ovulate. Cervical mucous is an excellent indicator, b/c it will get egg-white like when you're ovulating
2) ovulation detection kits: a little pricey, but very accurrate and they tell you the day before you ovulate, so you can plan.

Yes and no. Yes as far as you are guaranteed to have sex on your fertile days if you are doing it every day but no if you are doing it at different times of the day. The male body takes about 24 hours to produce more sperm after ejaculation. So if tonight you have sex at night and then you decide to do it tomorrow morning then tomorrow morning it will be pointless. If you are going to continue this method make sure to do it the same time every night. Also I have to ask does your husband know how lucky he is? When we were trying to get pregnant my husband thought we were going to have sex every day too and I had to set him straight real quick. Let me just say he looked like I just knocked the wind out of his sails. GOOD LUCK.

No! You can only get pregnant after you ovulate, and sometimes people don't ovulate every month. Also it takes 24 hour for a guy to get his sperm going good again. So try having sex every other day.

My husband and I had sex every other day during the week I ovulated, when we decided to start trying . It worked our son was born 9m later. Now we avoid having sex during ovulation week and we have not gotten pregnant again .
Good luck!

No this doesnt mean you are going to conceive...
Its just like hitting the lotto...You can do everything right and pick heaps of numbers but it doesnt mean you are going to win..
First of all dont think about it because for some reason known as murphys law, when you try you fail..If you just put it in the back of your mind and just go with the flow you never know what may happen..I know its hard-been there done that..
Where are you charting your fertile days?
Do you use Ovulation Sticks?

I recommend this site..I used it and got pregnant on the first try with it..
Best of luck to you..
Also try and lay of the lovemaking everyday and opt for every second day..This is because sperm can live for up to 7 days I believe...Just relax-LoL :)

Nope. But 90% of women who arent using birth control get pregnant within a year. So, chances are, you will, at least within a year or two, assuming neither you or your partner have fertility problems. Also, if you have been on hormonal birth control, it can take a while for your fertility to return to normal. Sometimes a year, but other women get pregnant right away. Keep things low stress, eat healthy, and just know when its meant to happen it will

yes, theoretically it should. But conception depends on so many factors, not just ovulation. For instance, the man's sperm count has to right.

There is no guarantee, but it sounds like you are on the right track. Give is a year before worrying. Also, put on a prom dress before becoming romantic, it seems to help.

Well the best thing to do is consult a doctor to be sure that u and ur partner are fertile. If so, then the next thing to do is get ovulation kit. That helps u to know when ur are ovulating because ur body is a certain temp. and that is the best time to be intimate to conceive.
