I had a couple praying mantises myself once. There's nothing wrong with their eyes, mine changed every once in awhile too. I never bothered looking it up, but my guess is that it just has to do with artificial lighting, sort of like when a person comes indoors from the sunlight and their pupils dilate a little. You could try taking them outside with you tomorrow for a few minutes and see if they change back. Just don't leave them out there for too long if you have them enclosed in something.
Hope I've helped. =)

there is a documentary on BBC called-- the alien insect-- it is about the praying mantis
the largest ones can eat snakes and rats
they can camouflage them selves in all kind of colors or even look like a flower
they can change the shape of their heads completely giving them a different profile and look
the eyes can also do strange things
check out this documentary you can find it in any search engine

Maybe the pitt bull could explain the bugs having black eyes.

It is preying. If they are praying, give them a rosary.

Otherwise, watch your ***, especially if you dumped nuclear waste on it.

praying manitises are endangered. therefore, they are illegal to keep as a pet. you could be arrested.
