i keep getting pop ups to buy anti-virus, spyware, healing, etc...

Trojans are usually spyware and not viruses so your standard anti virus software wont remove it.
go to www.download.com and download Adaware SE Personal and also Spybot Search & Destroy..both are free and work well.
If you have a legit copy of Windows and all the updates are done regularly you can also go to www.microsoft.com and download Windows Defender...using all three of these progs will sort out 99% of spyware issues on your pc

Ewido anti-spyware,liks spybot it has a resident sheild.
run,Spybot,then Ewido,then Adaware
run all three
they all have free downloads or trial versions.

Look up the viruses file name on your antivirus software's site. If you don't find anything, email tech support. If they don't have a solution, try downloading Adaware and Ccleaner from www.download.com. Install those, and run them both in windows safe mode.
