I never go 4 looks, i go 4 personality. most of the guys i know hate me because of my looks even though im smart a+ student

Does anybody know spacifficly why men do this? It makes me mad because I know this guy who likes me for my looks not me.

Most people and I'm not just saying men, just want to have a good time. Looking for a life long partner is a lot of work, that takes hours of spending time, and getting to know a person. Looks on the other hand are more obvious, it takes only a second or two for a person to decide if they like what they see. Especially in this day and age when things are so fast paced and sexually driven. Perhaps you are one of the small percentage of people who put friendship before desire. You are not the only one in the world like this. Most people who fall TRULY in love are like you. There are men who want the same thing. Just don't let superficial people bother you, they are missing out on a lot.

probably the same reason girls will take a good-looking, football playing, jerk over a smart and nice science nerd.
(In lieu of your additional info, and once being a smart kid myself, if you are going out of your way to let people know you are an A+ student, then you will definitely not make too many friends. This only reminds them that they are not doing as well in school as others. Part of having a good personality is being aware of others' insecurities.)

So you don't go for looks at all?
I've known a lot of women go after looks rather than personality.
I used to be overweight and women would dump me for the better looking guys.
Don't have a problem now though since I lost the weight.

Take it easy, there! It takes all sorts of people to make the world. So there will be boys who will go for personality instead of looks. I assume you are young, therefore, most guys in your age group you meet will go for looks. This is mainly so because they may not be looking for lifelong partners, but for partners to satisfy their sexual needs.
If you are serious, why don't you give yourself a few years first? There is no need to hurry, is there?
