As long as he takes this country in a positive direction, I don't care if it's a black man, a woman or a monkey!!!! (like me) lol

Voting in a new President just merely on the fact that they're black or female is NO wise reason to let them handle US or World Affairs. We voted George Bush because he sparked a glean of popularity; we were tired of Bill Clinton's indiscretions.....and look where our decision has gotten the world into now.

Voters today have a very real responsibility to closely look at the next few candidates soon to emerge this time next year; really see through their words for the answer to the real question we should be asking: Is this person qualified to positively run the US--someone who can lead us to proudly emerge from the mess we're in now?

Sadly though, there will be scores of voters who will walk right in blindly---and flip a vote lever, choosing a candidate strictly because they're either black or female.....and those are the voters we should be concerned of.

Choose the QUALIFIED President--not one who's a media darling.

Historically, the Bush, Jr. Administration will show the great many tragedies befell our country due to outright INEPTNESS by the hands of Bush appointees.....and it's been a costly lesson I pray we learn.

If he's the right person for the position and country, I would support him 100% - or her. I just wouldn't agree to putting a black man in the Presidency just because he was black or just to make a point.

I'd actually feel a bit better in some ways if an "African-American" were president. I think it'd be a great idea. Same goes for women president too.

Personally, I would care, but your question illustrates why there will NEVER be a black president. in the USA we can never get past a person's skin color and will never live up to our potential for furthering humanity.

Color is not the issue competence is. If he were competent I would vote for him. I would have no problem with him being colored. I thought Colin Powell would have made a fine President - he couldn't be worse than Bush at least Powell is intelligent.

There are some qualifications to run for the office of president. Race is not one of them. Why do you feel compelled to ask? Why would race make any difference?

Your prejudice is showing.

the more power to him! If he is quallified for the job then why should it matter the race? I would feel confident and supportive to any man or woman who may become president.

no different if it were any other man. As long as I like his policies I would vote for him as I would anybody else. Sen. Obama actually wouldn't make too bad of a president.
